Things I'm loving Friday ♥

Time to link up with PaisleyJade again. Don't Friday's come round so quickly?!

Here's what I'm loving this week.

♥ Lunches out and shopping trips with my mum, while she was down here on holiday for a few days (even though I didn't buy anything for myself!)

♥ What's better than a chocolate cake?

How about a four-layered one?

See here for the recipe.

♥ Having my beloved home on a Wednesday not a Friday (for any new followers, he works away up north Monday - Friday. See here

This meant he was able to celebrate is birthday with us. As usual little Alasdair was refusing to be in the photo as I was on the other side of the camera. Daddy is wearing his new Scotland rugby top that he got for his birthday.

♥ And finally, you have to love the question David (5) asked daddy on the morning of his birthday,

'How old are you now daddy? 98?'

For the record he isn't 98. He hasn't even hit the big 4 -0. Yet.

Oh, and he's a good few years older than me. Just so you all know :0)

  1. Happy Birthday to your Hubby Kirsteen.
Looks like a fun party. You have a precious family.
    Much Love,

  2. Ah! Happy Birthday to Daddy! You're both just kids! When you get to the 40's (and I'm mostly thru them!) - you'll see, they're pretty fun too! - at least what you can remember of them!

  3. Looks like a fun birthday! And so great you had a few extra days together!

  4. Those are wonderful Friday smiles! The chocolate cake looks AMAZING, and happy birthday to your husband! :)

  5. haha - don't you just love those age guessing moments that kids have!?! That cake looks amazing - so glad your guy could be home to spend his birthday with you all. xoxo

  6. Oh HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your sweet hubby!!!
What a gorgeous cake. I have been looking up all kinds of cakes for my hubby's birthday coming in May and I just clicked on your blog and Saw your 4 layered beauty! Thats the kinda cake I am thinking of doing. Something with a lot of layers!

I have had such a nice time catching up on all your posts! I so loved reading about your cleaning house schedule. I am so inspired by it and I am going to try and adopt it for me. You have really encouraged me and inspired me about keeping my home. I usually go into a deep cleaning mode when I am frustrated which is not fun I think LOL!

  7. That cake looks amazing (I am on a low fat diet just now, oh the torment lol). Anyway, hello fellow Scottish mummy. Loving your blog, I will try and back read your old posts soon.

  8. Oh my goodness, the look on David's face cracks me up! So funny. And the cake looks YUMMY!

I love reading everyone's comments, so thank-you for taking the time to leave them! I try and respond to them here too, so do check back later on.
