...our first barbecue of the season.
Last year we had our first barbecue of the season at the end of March, which to be fair is a little earlier than usual, but normally we kick start the barbecuing sometime in April.
Oh well, better late than never.
It still wasn't quite warm enough to eat outside, even though the boys (especially Alasdair) were very keen to do so, but for comforts sake we ate indoors. Barbecued food tastes just as good indoors or out!
Here is dad's eager helper keeping an eye on the onions.
Football tops aren't meant to be clean anyway are they, and that's why we have washing machines!
And boy did he enjoy his burgers and onions too!
Oh, yum! Our potluck at church this weekend was barbecue~themed, but we won't actually grill 'til next week (for Mother's Day).
ReplyDeleteDavid looks very spiffing in his goalie shirt! Our boy clothes don't stay new very long, either. In fact, Zachary went through a phase when brand-new jeans couldn't stay hole-free for more than a week... :p
Oh yes trousers, don't get me started on how he wears them out!
DeleteUmmmm! I can almost smell the deliciousness from here!
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy. We too have had a late winter... or is it a late winter-like spring.... so I know what you mean about the late barbecue, and last year was early for us as well. Perhaps we will all have a nice green summer? Love the dirty elbows on the jersey; definitely the way it is with boys isn't it? Have a wonderful Mother's Day Kirsteen (as I write that, I realize that you may not have a Mother's Day Holiday when we do, but Happy Mother's Day from the U.S. just the same).
ReplyDeleteLove and Blessings,
Pam
We have Mother's Day over here a certain number of Sundays before Easter (I can't remember now if it's six or eight!) so we celebrated a while back. Hope yours was good though! We do celebrate Father's Day at the same time though, I think. Ours is in June. Not sure why Mother's Day should be different though!
